should i get my engagement ring fixed?

something happened to my engagement ring about a month ago a bunch of the pave diamonds came out, the halo got bent and the center diamond came out, i had it insured but the place we took it too did really crappy job fixing it, some of the prongs holding the pave diamonds were broken, and instead of melting it down they added a huge wad of gold next to the diamonds so it just doesn't have that clean pave look, also the halo is still bent. It's prob going to cost a bit of money to fix and i dont want to tell my insurance company *the first place did a bad job*, do you think its worth fixing, Ive only been engaged a few months and it bothers me every time i look at it, its not noticeable to anyone else unless they really look at it…what would you do? also keeping in mind i didnt have it on my finger for 2 weeks and now i will have to not have it for a month or so again…in the midst of wedding planning its kind of embaressing.

Hon, this is your engagement ring! Of course you should have it fixed!

How long has it been since the jeweler did a bad job fixing it? This should be brought to their attention and to the attention of your insurance company. Also, keep in mind that their shoddy work could have a lasting impact on your ring – it could cause more pave stones to fall out in the future. Absolutely do not allow the jeweler who "fixed" your ring to touch it again since they did such a horrible job. Pave can be very tricky – fixing it requires an expert jeweler with microscopic equipment and attention to detail. However you get it fixed next, make sure you go to a jeweler who is extremely experienced with pave.
