does anyone know if it makes a difference between white gold and platinum when it comes to pave settings?

I've heard two different stories from two different jewelers. My engagement ring is white gold and white gold wedding rings are right in my budget. Am I more prone to loose a stone from pave setting white gold vs. platinum?

Anything that has Platinum is better, regardless of what it holds. It is much harder to find and get and it lasts much longer. It also costs a lot more…I've already mentioned to my daughter that is what she should have for her wedding ring…Great Taste…
