Can one wear gold engagement and wedding band on one hand and platinum on the other?

I am not fashion saavy……I’ll let you know that right off the bat. I typically prefer white gold, platinum or silver jewelry to yellow gold. Unfortunately my husband didn’t realize this and got me yellow gold for my engagement/wedding band. Not a big deal, but I still like to wear my grandmother’s platinum ring because it has sentimental value to me. Is this okay or is like wearing white shoes before Easter ;) ? I’ve always heard you don’t mix the two, but was hoping maybe the person is a bit old fashioned.

I also have a favorite pair of earrings that are sterling silver that I wear but I feel it isn’t that noticeable because its not like they’re next to each other.

Thanks!

I say go for it. It it has meaning to you, it doesn’t matter what it looks like. Maybe down the road, you could always consider changing your wedding set out, i think you can get them dipped too.
