My wedding is Oct. 16th when do we….?

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Mail out the invitations and what should I put in with them (other than RSVP card). Do I put the registry card in with that? Directions to the location? I read 3 months before the wedding you are supposed to mail them out....That seems really early!

Also, I need to order his ring. It is available in white gold or palladium. It is a very nice ring and I want it to last. He works in remodeling (so kind of construction) and I am worried the white gold will look awful quickly. But I only know what jewelr have told me about palladium. Thoughts.

Lastly. We picked out the mens tuxes/shoes. The rental is 151.00 is that reasonable?

Engagement Ring /Wedding Band: Palladium vs Platinum vs 18k White Gold ?

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

which is better ? i have heard that white gold looses its luster after a while and tends to loose its shape over time ... with palladium ive heard it has the same qualities as platinum but is about 25% cheaper in price ... is it better to buy palladium or should i just shell out the extra money in platinum?

What kind of metal should my husband’s wedding band be?

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

I'm having a tough time deciding on a ring for my husband-to-be. What is the difference between tungsten carbide, palladium, and sterling silver? We want something VERY durable and scratch-resistant that will match my white-gold set. Also, what are the differences in prices?

Palladium or white gold wedding band? Palladium for those who don’t know is a mix between platinum and white

gold but is stronger and more durable than white gold. My husband accidently threw his in the trash or in the snow yesterday during the winter storm and cannot find it. It was a titanium, so it cannot be resized. We are purchasing a new one.

is tungsten a good metal for a wedding ring?

Will it stand up to years of wear like platinum?
or should i choose palladium or titanium?

Men’s wedding band metals; tungsten, palladium, gold, or titanium?

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

i started looking for a wedding band, i like the dark shiny look of the titanium rings a lot but i guess they cant be resized if your ring size changes during your life, which it almost always does. i wasnt a silver looking band and was thinking about an alternative metal rather than white gold because it kinda looks like crap and loses its silver color after a few years. someone told me palladium dents and scratches easily so i was thinking maybe tungesten, does anyone know if that can be resized? if anyone knows of a good, objective buying guide for metals it would be appreciated. most of the guides ive found either sound unobjective or dont include tungsten and titanium
no, there is a metal called palladium. im not getting platium because like the first person said its horribly expensive and its soft so it dents easily and cheaper stuff looks just as good

platinum vs palladium (rings)?

Monday, April 12th, 2010

What is the real deal? I keep hearing conflicting information... some say palladium is softer than platinum, some say it is harder. I can't wear gold (yellow or white) due to allergies, so don't even bother suggesting i save my money and get gold.

Which is better? is palldium really just a poor man's platinum? I want value, but I also want a ring that will last a lifetime. Temporarily I am getting a plain wedding band for a few years, and then I will be getting a different one that has small diamonds going around the ring. I want both rings to age well.

Does anyone have correct information on the comparison? Don't bother answering if you are going to quote wikipedia. wikipedia is a great starting point, but should never be relied on as having correct information.
my engagement ring is platinum. while it "whitens" over time from scratches, they polish right out. So, i am familar with the care of platinum. Recently a few jewlery stores i have been in to see styles for wedding bands have been pushing the palladium. I think it is because they don't normally carry platinum...

So, i am just curious of the differences. I don't plan on wearing my engagement ring once we are married, so i am not worried about the metals matching.

What is the cheapest engagement/wedding ring metal?

Palladium, Silver, or Platinum? Also which is the most expensive?

palladium or white gold?

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

This isn't for a wedding ring, it's a normal ring with an engraving. If I decide I want a white color, I can choose between palladium and white gold... price is not a factor here. I won't be using it in an overly careless way, but I do not want any upkeep over the years. My most important quality for the ring is its color and long term care. Also, value in the future. The gold would be 10k, and I am not allergic to nickel so I don't care about that.
