I am looking at an engagement ring style that has a center stone with pave set diamonds on all three sides and all the way around, or 2/3 way around.
I am concerned about the durability of this type of setting. Realistically, how often would I need to have the ring repaired- on average?
I gave him the diamond from my old wedding set (1st marriage). Tacky, I know. He bought a pave diamond band for 50.
I broke off the engagement after catching him in several lies; one lie was about doing drugs behind my back. He did XTC and slept in a bed with a his best friend's girlfriend!! He says nothing happened but she accused him of touching her while she slept.
We both agree that I'm keeping the diamond. Should I give the band back?
does anyone have any horror stories about their engagement ring?? I need to know there’s others out there right now… my bf proposed to me on monday and got the exact ring I wanted from this store that was going out of business… its gorgeous and i needed it sized and 2 jewelers wouldnt touch it because it has pave diamonds along each side and said they would fall out.. i got a guy to do it but he said they kept falling out and that I would have trouble all down the road with it so my best deal is to get my diamond made into another ring.. which i dont have the money for… the pave diamond rings are soo gorgeous and thats what i like! is there any style of ring out there that has then and they dont fall out??? Im soooo sad about this… this should be a happy occasion.. the place he got it from wont take it back either since they are going out of business…
with all white diamonds–not the band with pink and yellow diamonds….
I’d like to get some feedback on pave designed rings. I love the look, but am worried about the durability. I heard that the stones fall out constantly. If you own a pave ring, how many times have you had to repair it?

I am looking at a diamond pave wedding set at a jewelry store. The underside of the bands don’t have any slots so you can clean the back side of the diamonds its just solid gold. Would it be a mistake to buy this ring? Will i be able to clean it just from the top and sides or is it going to look dirty all the time?
We went to a jewelry store yesterday to try on engagement rings, and one I really loved did not have a clearly marked manufacturer. I asked the woman, and she said it was called "La Reina" or at least that’s what I thought she said. I don’t know if that’s the name of the specific ring, or the manufacturer. It was a delicate looking 18k white gold engagement setting with pave diamonds on the side of the center stone, and the prongs had little filigree designs in a band around the center stone.
Any ideas? Or something similar?
