does anyone know if it makes a difference between white gold and platinum when it comes to pave settings?

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

I've heard two different stories from two different jewelers. My engagement ring is white gold and white gold wedding rings are right in my budget. Am I more prone to loose a stone from pave setting white gold vs. platinum?

What kind of wedding band do you wear with a 3 stone, Princess Cut, engagement ring?

Sunday, August 1st, 2010

I received a 3 stone, Princess Cut, platinum and diamond ring with pave' diamonds around the side, as an engagement ring. I'm having a hard time trying to find a complimentary wedding ring to go with it. Can anyone help?

What the heck do people get for a wedding band when they get the 3 row pave engagement ring bands?

Friday, July 16th, 2010

Maybe this is a silly question but for the life of me (and my future fiancé), we can’t figure it out!

We will be getting an engagement ring from Leon Mege. I was set on the pave band with the 3 rows of pave as opposed to the single row. On his website, an example would be the R908.

If I were to get the single row pave engagement band, then a single row pave wedding band would be flush with the engagement band. What the heck do people do when they get the 3 row pave engagement ring bands? Obviously when you have a strip of diamonds down the middle and both sides of the engagement ring band, and the same on a matching wedding band, won’t the diamonds always be rubbing against each other??? The single row bands have metal on the sides so they can come up right next to each other so how does it work with the 3 rows?? I’ve seen plenty of pictures of bridal sets with 3 rows on both bands, but never a picture of how it looks on someone actual finger?! And the ones I do see on pricescope, usually people write “pave bands” instead of “single row” or “3-row pave bands” so I can’t tell in the picture if I’m looking at single or 3-row.

I do see that Leon has a metal band that can go in between the two rings in his additional photos of the R908 if you wanted matching bands. #1- I don’t like it, and #2- wouldn’t the metal just get scratched??

Is there any way to have these rings sit flush with each other, or even have them welded together?

Wouldn’t having 3 rows on the engagement band and the wedding band defeat the purpose if the two rows that touch each other are basically now covered up by each other?? Isn’t that a waste of money on extra diamonds or am I just not envisioning it right???
Just to clarify I am talking about the pave BANDS only. The setting of the E-ring is a single stone solitaire on a pave band. Some bands have the single pave strip, in other words, a row of very small diamonds around the band. The one I am getting has three rows of very small diamonds around the band: one down the middle and one down each side... the pave diamonds curve with the band. The wedding band is the same deal and the pave diamonds curve with the band. So just wondering how that works when they are sitting right next to each other on the finger.

Can I have five larger diamonds broken down into a large amount of smaller diamonds?

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

My fiance's mother passed along her wedding band to him to give to me for my wedding band. Her husband had passed away many years ago and was so sweet to give us a band with 5 larger diamonds in it. However, they don't match the single strip of pave diamonds on my engagement ring, which is what I'm looking to have happen. So, I would need to have the 5 larger diamonds broken down into smaller diamonds. I'm wondering if this can be done, if anyone has had this done, and if it is worth it (how much did it cost to have them broken down). Thanks for your time and any help you can provide me with!

Is it better to buy an engagement ring that is quite snug or a bit loose?

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

For some reason my ring size is somewhere between a 5 and 5.5. My boyfriend would like to buy me an engagement ring that has small diamonds, pave, all the way around the band. He was told that these rings cannot be sized after purchase. Is it better to go with the 5, which is quite snug, or the 5.5, which is a bit loose? It would not be so loose as to fall off, but it could shift from side to side.

Is it too late to ask for a refund?

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

ok so I took my engagement ring to the jewelers because I wanted the diamond lowered... so in order to do that they had to put a new head on it... well when I got the ring back this past Tuesday night I was just so happy to have it back again I didn’t even inspect it...

So my fiance and I are grocery shopping after picking it up and I was looking at my ring and two things caught my eye... ONE... the freaking new head that was put on there was glued or something because you could see the freaking glue underneath the head of the mounting if you look closely... I mean it's not totally visible, but I can see it and it just looks cheap to me!

BUT what was visible was it looked like they replaced one of my diamonds on my ring! My ring is a pave setting and it has 6 diamonds on each side of the main diamond... well on the right side of the main diamond, the 2nd diamond was BROWN!!! It was completely visible!!!!!!

So we took it back the next day and now it’s the 3rd time I'm sending my ring back.... I've only been engaged for 6 months...

So when we took it back, the lady that we’ve been dealing with was SUPERRRR pissed that their jeweler did such a horrible and sloppy job. Apparently what looked like a brown diamond, was the regular diamond that was in there before, but the jeweler got solder on the bottom of it and it made it look a different color… and the glue that was visible, was also solder that she didn’t file down…. I mean the ring looked like crap. I so badly just want to have my fiance ask for his money back so we can go somewhere else where they have a reputable jeweler… but we’ve had the ring since June… I’m not sure if their going to do that… it’s just a nighmare. The sucky part is that the customer service is amazing and we don’t want to go in there and raise hell…. But what else are we supposed to do?

We have had nothing but problems with it…When my fiance proposed to me the wedding band that came with the engagement ring was missing a diamond and he had the ring for a freaking day! Then when we went to turn in the band, they noticed that one of the side diamonds on my ering was about to fall out... so they fixed it but its also a messy solder job... I'm just so fed up! You think that paying almost ,000 for the freaking thing, it would last longer than 6 months!!! UGHHHH!!! I don't know what to do!!

Is it too late to demand a new ring, but with the same diamond that we purchased? Or a refund to go somewhere else where we wont have this problem?

I mean this ring is supposed to last me my whole life, and it hasn’t even made it through 6 months and it’s already falling apart…..

Which pair of earrings should I get (PICS included!)?

Monday, June 28th, 2010

I'm trying to find ones that look kinda like these I guess...

http://concreteloop.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/chris.jpg

http://www.jamesallen.com/_uploads/News/Chris-Brown-Engagement-Ring.jpg

and those appear to be micro paves... and I can't decide between which of these two sites to order from. obviously I'm not spending hundreds of dollars on earrings like Chris Brown probably did so these are both CZ pairs...

1) http://www.hiphopbling.com/puffed-box-micro-pave-cz-earrings.html
2) http://www.trendtogo.com/product-p/jf925mpe003e.htm

Anyway, can you tell which ones would be of better quality?

Or just... which ones do you think look better/closer to the ones in the Chris Brown pics... I saw some guy with a pair like those on the other day, his were blue though... and it reminded me to start looking for a pair of my own...

Thanks

Where can I find a ring like this?

Friday, June 25th, 2010

Ok, I really suck at this whole searching for things on the internet deal, so if anyone could help, it'd be great.!

I want a ring like this:

http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/pave/ring/item_412-2263.asp

BUT, i only want one row of diamonds around the center stone, and I do'nt necessarially want diamonds on the band. Yellow gold would be preferable, but not necessary.

Thank you so much! =)

How long would it take to make a custom engagement ring?

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

Approximately. From time of placing order to time of pick up. Bought the stone already. What are we talking here roughly? A week? A month?

Not too intricate - single diamond in the middle, a few pave stones on each side. To be more specific: the Tiffany Novo, just not from "Tiffany"
This is the ring:

Please don't answer with "a long time" or "I don't know" or anything else that proves to me that you are borderline retarded. Real answers only please. Don't waste my time.
