My white gold engagement ring, which I have rarely removed in the last year, is bothering my skin.?

It is a very wide band, and I understand that it could simply be a matter of water or something being trapped and causing my skin to get irritated, but it has only been within the last month that it began bothering me. Is it possible the jeweler who made it put something on it to make it less likely to irritate skin when it was new, and now it has simply worn off?

I had the same thing happen, your body can actually develop an allery to the gold. Or it’s a dry patch of skin from wearing it so much. I put clear fingernail polish on the inside of it, worked great! I had no more red spot and the itching stopped. The clear polish will keep the gold off your skin.
